VPS for n8n
Your own n8n on a server — no cloud limits on executions, and your data stays with you. The server is in the Netherlands.
How much n8n needs
In our measurements n8n with PostgreSQL in Docker uses about 0.8 GB of memory: n8n itself 620–790 MB, the database 50–90 MB. The CPU is almost idle at rest. The n8n image is 1.8 GB, plus execution history in the database.
| Workload | Cores | Memory | Disk | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal automations, webhooks, dozens of workflows | 2 | 2 GB | 30 GB | VPS-2 |
| Team workflows, file processing, AI nodes | 2 | 4 GB | 40 GB | VPS-3 |
| n8n together with other services on one server | 4 | 8 GB | 80 GB | VPS-4 |
n8n starts on 1 GB, but the OOM killer will hit it as load grows — start with 2 GB. Build your own configuration in the configurator.
