VPS for Docker
A KVM server with full root access: Docker, Docker Compose and any images without restrictions. The server is in the Netherlands.
How much you need
The Docker daemon itself uses 35–50 MB of memory; containers use as much as the same programs without Docker. A stack of a Node.js app, PostgreSQL, Redis and Nginx took about 0.6–0.8 GB including the system in our measurements.
| Stack | Cores | Memory | Disk | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One or two small containers | 1 | 1 GB | 10–20 GB | VPS-1 |
| App, database, Redis, reverse proxy | 2 | 4 GB | 40 GB | VPS-3 |
| Several projects, building images on the server | 4 | 8 GB | 80 GB | VPS-4 |
Build your own configuration in the configurator.
Matching plans
Add resources at any time from the client area.
Questions
Does Docker work on your servers?
Yes. The servers run on KVM — full virtual machines with their own kernel, so Docker works as on any Linux.
Can I add resources later?
Yes, cores, memory and disk can be increased from the client area.
Is traffic limited?
Volume is unlimited: the first 5 TB a month at full speed, then 100 Mbit/s.
